Two pairs of hands, sixteen years of baking
Bakes n Bites is the work of Christopher and Christina, a husband-and-wife team, now in their seventies, who have been baking together for sixteen years.
It began after Christopher was retrenched from his career as an engineer. Rather than slow down, he and Christina picked up baking and set up a small stall in the corner of Old Airport Road Food Centre. Over the years, they perfected the thing they're now known for: the chilled muffin, soft and moist, best enjoyed cold from the chiller.
Everything is still made by hand, in small batches, fresh every day. No factory, no shortcuts, just two people who've kept at it long enough to get it just right.
